Thomas Ferg

Thomas (Tom) Ferg was born and raised in Waupaca County. He grew up in Manawa then moved to Waupaca in 1976. He was a dairy farmer raising Brown Swiss cattle. His farm, Lone Oak Swiss Farm, was known worldwide for his fine Brown Swiss cattle.
He retired from farming in 2003 and a portion of the Lone Oak Swiss Farm land was donated by the Ferg family to the Humane Society of Waupaca for an animal shelter. Tom then went to work for the Wisconsin State farmer, Wisconsin's oldest farm newspaper.
In addition, due to his love for John Deere, he began selling his beloved John Deere tractors and equipment until 2012. When the dealership was sold in 2012 Tom chose to go into real estate so he could use his land experience and knowledge of the area to help others be property owners.
Tom’s history in agriculture certainly makes him an expert in rural real estate and farming. He also enjoys the residential side of real estate representing both buyers and sellers. Working with first time home buyers to find that perfect home is as rewarding as owning a John Deere 4020. He is also just as committed to helping seniors or retirees down size when it is time to sell their homes or farms.
Being deeply rooted in agriculture and farming, Tom has been a FFA alumni member since 1983 and has served as Waupaca FFA Alumni President since 2006. Tom was instrumental in starting the FFA Alumni Dinner and Dance in 1993. Over the years it has become the Waupaca FFA Alumni’s biggest annual fund raiser.
Active in community, Tom is a member of the Tomorrow River Business Association in the Amherst area where he now resides. He is also a board member of the Amherst Fair Association in Portage County. He is a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers along with being a fanatic of anything John Deere.
